Learn the ways of the ninja at Downtown East with Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Singapore, 8 May 2015 – The way of the ninja is often shrouded in mystery and fascination, but this mid-year school holidays, kids will be able to get closer to fulfilling their dreams of learning the ways of a ninja at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dojo Experience, held in collaboration between Downtown East and Nickelodeon. Step into the Turtles’ dojo (or training ground) and join Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo in their training to become full-fledged ninjas.
The Dojo Experience
Kids begin their training by solving a puzzle with their teammates at the “Tag Team Ninja” station, which allows them to learn teamwork and coordination. Then, they will manoeuvre their way through a tricky “Epic String Maze” to avoid being caught by the electrically charged ‘wires’ because having flexibility and being light on your feet are key to being a trained ninja. Thereafter, Master Splinter, sensei to the Turtles, will send them along their way for them to show their physical and mental prowess at the “Villains Takedown” stop, where accuracy is key to defeating foes and completing their training. With all that training under their belt, kids will then swing down a zipline and straight into the action as a full-fledged ninja!
Kids can gain exclusive passes into the Dojo Experience area and start their ninjutsu training with a minimal spending of $20 at Downtown East (or $40 for NTUC FairPrice spending). The first 150 ninja trainees daily will also receive one of the four coloured Turtles masks – looking like your favourite Turtle has never been so easy!
Catch the Turtles in Action
The heroic foursome will be out and about at Downtown East to meet their fellow Ninjas-in-training, so if you’re a fan of the Turtles, do not miss this chance to up close to the Turtles who usually prefer to stay hidden in their lair. The Turtles will be at the Event Square stage every weekend with additional patrols to Wild Wild Wet and eXplorerkid.
Ninja Workout
Part of ninjutsu training involves being in top physical condition and the Ninja Workout will help aspiring ninjas with that. Taking place on 21 June, kids and their parents can work up a sweat at the four fun and easy to follow ‘training’ sessions.
Incorporating moves from karate, taekwondo and even kung fu, the Ninja Workout ensures that the ninja trainees are strong yet agile and is great for the entire family to get fit together. So make it a healthy morning out with the whole family at the Ninja Workout and punch, kick and jab your way to a healthier you. Furthermore, trainees will also be doing their part for charity as all proceeds will go to Pertapis and NTUC Club will be matching the amount raised by 10 times.
With so much action happening this upcoming mid-year holiday, do not miss out on the chance to become the next nimble ninja at Downtown East!
