nEbO’s 15th birthday bash!
June 30 2022 – nEbO turns 15 this July and in true celebratory fashion the youth club plans to party with a bang together with more than our 100,000 nEbO members. nEbO is the junior arm of NTUC that aims to create a community of Work-Ready, World-Ready and Life-Ready youths by providing a platform for them to realise their potential.
The month-long birthday bash has a smashing line-up of activities and treats for members and Singapore’s youth at large. Key activities to look forward to are World Youth Skills Day, Esports Events Production Workshop, Fri-yay Night Gaming - nEbO Bday Edition and Kidz Day Out for beneficiaries at Pasir Ris.
Over the past 15 years, since its inception in 2007, nEbO has brought youths exciting and purpose driven initiatives. Most notably these are international exchange programmes, Ways In Sharing Happiness (W.I.S.H) Do-Good Initiative, Annual Spirit Of Youth Awards that recognise the admirable contributions of nEbO youths and Thank Your Intern Day movement, co-created by interns, with the purpose of educating youths and employers on the importance of a quality internships as well workplace rights.

They are at the core of our growth and play a vital role in shaping the development for the nation. nEbO will continue to enable our youths with more personal development line-ups to continually hone their skills. This includes our Work-Ready Headstart Programmes, that gives them purposeful industry exposure, leadership development programmes, opportunities to initiate youth led projects and interest-based communities such as themed travel opportunities”.
Celebrating while cultivating youths to be Work-Ready, Life-Ready, the birthday festivities encompass: World Youth Skills Day online symposium (July 7) in partnership with Temasek Polytechnic provides a platform to expose and develop the global competencies of our youths. The highlight of the online event is the Secret to Achieving Success Today and Tomorrow - Power Skills! by dialogue speaker, nEbO Alumni, Ron Tan.
As part of nEbO's World Youth Skills Day line-up, the Global Awareness Project (July 27 - 29) is a collaborative effort between Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and nEbO. This interactive three-day hybrid event boast workshops and breakout sessions which aim to encourage social cohesion - guiding youths to live better lives through developing greater empathy and compassion for others and themselves.
Fri-yay Night Gaming - nEbO Bday Edition (July 8 & 15) is a special night of mayhem partying and gaming among nEbO-aged youths! Attractive youth-centric prizes include $300 cash and Steelseries gaming products are up for grabs. The winning team will play in the EChamps Challenge Qualifiers in the fourth quater of 2022.
Esports Events Production Workshop (July 29) is a specially curated hands-on class to introduce youths keen on the behind the scenes of esports gaming production and entertainment.
Kidz Day Out (July 16) at Pasir Ris Park is a youthled event to celebrate with other underprivileged youths. A fun day-out in the sun will be followed by a movie screening of the Minions: The Rise of Gru in the afternoon at Downtown East.
Throughout the month of July, nEbO will also showcase 15 youth leaders across various interest groups and institutions from local Polytechnics, Junior Colleges, Institute of Technical Education, Universities and Art Academies. The interviews will be aired on nEbO’s online and social media platforms which will showcase these young adults talking to their younger 15-year-old selves giving guidance on personal growth and life lessons.
