NTUC Club Refreshes My Golf Kaki with Enhanced Benefits & New Golf Hub

Singapore, Nov 16 2023 - Seasoned golfers, beginners and those keen to embark on their golf journey can swing to greater heights with the newly rebranded My Golf Kaki (MGK). MGK, which is Singapore’s largest estate-less golf community with over 7,000 members, now provides enhanced benefits with greater access and affordability, to serve the greater golf community across all ages.

NTUC Club, which owns and manages MGK; the Singapore Golf Association (SGA); and Singapore Professional Golf Association (SPGA), will continue to further MGK's mission to make golf accessible to everyone, regardless of their backgrounds and skill levels.

Leveraging NTUC Club’s current golf assets such as Orchid Country Club (OCC) and Marina Bay Golf Course (MBGC), the collaboration also sees new partnerships with local and overseas golf courses, affiliated academy partners including Star Golf Academy, and golf-related lifestyle merchants, for members. All new and upcoming initiatives are part of MGK’s efforts to serve 20,000 members by 2026 – and to make golf more accessible and affordable, reflecting its ethos, Golf for All, Golf for Good.

Golf for All, Golf for Good

“In recent years, MGK has seen a growing number of younger golf members in their 20s and 30s who see the value of golf for health, social and networking benefits. We are more than just a golf membership. Our steadfast commitment is also to transform the sport into a lifestyle and recreational choice for the community, not just for golf professionals – Golf for All,” says Mr Emmanuel Lem, NTUC Club’s Director of Golf Development. “While we strive to be the foremost and trusted golf community, MGK aims to further its environmental and social responsibility through the sport – Golf for Good,” he adds.

MGK is a game-changer for Ms Ng Yi Hsuan, 20, Co-President of NUS Golf. A member since 2018, the 14-handicap golfer elaborates: “What I like are the discounted training fees and affordable playing options. Even though golf courses have closed over the years, I’m not giving up on the game as MGK has tied up with other courses. MGK is also a valuable networking and bonding platform for me.”

To promote the game, SGA, NTUC Club and MGK are also bringing golf to the heartlands on Nov 18 and 19 weekend (11am – 4pm) in a free event called Golf Fiesta at Begonia Terrace, Downtown East. There will be golf stations that will be helmed by SGA experts, coaches and national players – Troy Storm, Bruce Kwong and Irvyn Tan – from the SGA Development Squad. Other activities include putting, chipping, and bulls-eye targets. Guests can also register for the 90-minute Introduction to Golf by MGK Academy at $50. It includes a briefing on the basics of golf, plus a trial lesson by certified coaches, allowing participants to experience golf before taking up the sport.

Increased Convenience

With the revamped mygolfkaki.com, which features a new logo on a redesigned interface, MGK’s new Telegram channel also keeps members up to date on the latest golfing activities. This month, golf enthusiasts can also look forward to a brand new 1,400 sq ft Golf Hub that opens from Monday to Friday (9am to 6pm) at OCC. It is a dedicated one-stop service centre with a cozy lounge with a retail section. Here, guests can delve into a golfer's journey and gain a comprehensive understanding on what the new MGK provides.

Increased Value and Affordability

The new MGK’s perks are second to none. Annual membership is affordably priced between $80 and $200 (with golf insurance and maintenance of handicap index) – the lowest in the market. NTUC members enjoy special rates, too. Good news for novices: golf lessons at MGK Academy costs just $390 (U.P. $559), which includes lessons, a Proficiency Certificate (PC) test and a one-year MGK membership. The Academy provides an end-to-end experience from lessons to golf handicap and playing, with golf clubs provided. By enrolling in the 10-lesson First Swing Golf Starter Pack and passing the PC test, new golfers can acquire a PC that grants them temporary playing privileges on the greens for a year; and work towards obtaining their Golf Handicap before the PC expires by completing a 9-hole Courtesy Round with an appointed tester.

More Special Access and Expanded Choices

Golfers are indeed spoilt for choice when deciding where to tee-off. MGK members now enjoy concessionary green fees at more courses – Orchid Country Club, Changi Golf Course, Warren Golf & Country Club, Sembawang Country Club, and Marina Bay Golf Course in Singapore – as well as partner golf courses New Kuta Golf (Bali, Indonesia), Southlinks Country Club (Batam, Indonesia), Palm Springs (Batam, Indonesia) and Tanjong Puteri Golf & Resort (Johor, Malaysia). MGK members can also get their best equipment and apparel deals at selected MST Golf stores in Singapore, and OneGolf Singapore at Far East Shopping Centre and Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Center

"I've been teeing off with My Golf Kaki since its SLF GolfKaki days, and I'm proud to be part of this incredible golfing journey for so many years. I always tell others that I've been bitten by the golf bug, and I've been loving every moment of it. As a retiree, I cherish my trips to JB and the surrounding region, where I get to share the fairways with my buddies and pass on my passion to younger golfers - it's a hole-in-one life!" Mr Goh Mia Chuan, MGK's longest-serving member at 78 years young.

MGK is also ramping up its engagement with members with more than 50 curated golf events each year, many catering to beginners such as MGK Golf 6, local social series, overseas golf trips, clinics, and workshops.

Mr Lem shares: “MGK Golf 6 is a social 6-hole play on the golf course that is gaining popularity due to its shorter format that suits beginners, busy professionals, youths and even senior golfers. We now run two editions of Golf 6 – one for seasoned golfers (once a week) and the other for novices (once per month). Golfers are free to form their own flight or be paired with others. Since the start of the year, more than 200 golfers have joined MGK for overseas golf trips to Batam. MGK Academy has graduated a total of ten batches of new golfers (160 golfers).”
