Staytion collaborates with NTUC Club and Savills to bring change to the future of "work-live-play" in the heartlands

SINGAPORE, OCT 28 - Staytion, a Singapore-based start-up, officially launched its first multi-concept lifestyle space, located within the heartlands at Marsiling MRT Station. Unveiled by Mr. Zaqy Mohamad, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Manpower and Deputy Leader of the House. Staytion officiates their collaboration with NTUC Club and Savills respectively today to promote the “Work-Live-Play” ethos. Staytion will further launch in Paya Lebar, Woodlands and one in the city centre by Q1 Y2023, providing a one-stop location for daily commuters to meet, work, dine or shop for their lifestyle needs.

As part of Staytion’s efforts to provide a more holistic approach to the hybrid workforce needs of individuals and businesses, Staytion plans to reinvent and transform the familiar MRT station environment into a more productive and innovative space near their homes, with reliable wi-fi and focus areas such as meeting nodes, cosy reading nooks, and cafés. Commuters can drop in any day of the week for a drink, and members can enjoy enterprise-grade wi-fi to catch up on work at any of the comfortable and spacious seating areas in these outlets. Seats can be conveniently booked via Staytion's real-time digital platform to ensure users always have a space on the go whenever they need it. Users can choose to book hot desks or a private studio via Staytion's real-time digital platform, which offers the flexibility of an hourly rate. Besides that, Staytion also provides meeting rooms which can double up as functions and events space.

Said Mr. Zaqy Mohamad, "Building a strong workforce requires the right mindset and culture to be productive and have the courage to take on the new post-pandemic challenges. We are doing that by starting up with many good initiatives in the heartlands and being a part of the hybrid work culture is critical in supporting Singapore-based companies and employees based here. We also want to make sure that such a movement transcends to the companies and brings value to our workers. We must continue to maintain a high degree of readiness and ensure that we are always in tune with the current workforce needs in the Singapore market to continually propel ourselves onto a global workforce platform."

Mr. Abu Bakar Mohd Nor, Chairman of Staytion, shared, "Staytion is at the forefront of driving a flexible work and lifestyle movement. We are here to create communities, memories, and bonds, connecting people by bridging their work and life. We are thrilled to bring together the community with the collaboration between Staytion and NTUC Club and Savills to create a holistic ecosystem.”

“We want to offer more choices for the daily commuter who wishes to meet, answer their emails on the go or grab a coffee to rest their feet while taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the daily commute and these collaborations are just the beginning of a wide choice of offerings to support our “Work-Live-Play” concept.” echoed Ms. Jane Toh, CEO at Staytion.

To amplify the “Work-Live-Play” concept and promote vibrant work-life communities all around Singapore, Staytion’s collaboration with NTUC Club aims to broaden the reach to communities through the organisation’s vibrant network. The collaboration will see key initiatives in future, such as bringing a variety of interest-based community engagement events to Staytion outlets island wide.

“Most workers today look for hybrid in-person and office work. It is within our interest to co-create and offer our community flexible work arrangement facilities to promote vibrant communities through amplifying the Work-Live-Play concept. NTUC Club’s collaboration with Staytion will allow us to bring more spaces for community engagement with our interest-based groups, members and employees. We advocate our belief in ‘For the Community, By the Communities’,” said Ms. Gigi Low, NTUC Club, Director, Membership Engagement & Experience.

Staytion has also collaborated with Workthere, a platform backed by leading global real estate business, Savills. The platform helps individuals and businesses connect with knowledgeable local experts and unrivalled market data to find the right space to work and grow in, whether it is a co-working desk, a private office or a personal self-contained office space. Staytion is now available for bookings on Workthere.

As most co-working spaces in Singapore are primarily focused in central areas and CBD districts, Staytion’s collaboration with Savills will offer broader coverage of accessibility beyond the city centre. Both brands aim to build a more inclusive array of co-working options for hybrid workers in the heartlands, to better connect people with secure, accessible and cost-effective workspaces where they can work, live and play.

Mr. Ashley Swan, Executive Director, Commercial Leasing at Savills Singapore said, “As we exit the pandemic, it is increasingly evident that the way we work is changing. Remote and flexible working remain buzzwords with people looking to work from anywhere. There is a growing need for accessible flexible workspaces, especially so with most co-working outlets situated in central areas. Workthere is pleased to onboard Staytion to our list of co-working providers on the platform where we provide hot desking, co-working and private office solutions.”
