Wild Wild Wet Gets TWICE as Big in Size and Thrills
Twice the size and better experiences with new rides! Completion of Singapore’s First Integrated Water Park Resort. Not-to-be-missed benefits for NTUC members
Monday, 2 October 2017 – Singapore’s beloved water park, Wild Wild Wet (WWW) has completed its revamp. It is now twice its original size, and has launched four new rides since April this year, with the latest two – Vortex and Kraken Racers – opening to public today. This expansion of Wild Wild Wet also marks the completion of Singapore’s First Integrated Water Park Resort (IWPR), offering members and the public a one-stop seamless experience from D’Resort to Wild Wild Wet. With this completion, NTUC Club is well on track its five-year Refreshing Downtown East project. The final phase will see the expansion of the retail, dining and entertainment offerings which will be completed by the first half of 2018.
Two brand new thrill rides at expanded Wild Wild Wet
Earlier this year, thrill-seekers were greeted by two adrenaline-pumping rides at Wild Wild Wet – Royal Flush, the first hybrid ride combining the Behemoth BOWL40 and TornadoWAVE and Freefall, the tallest freefall water slide in Asia. Both the rides have been highly popular and park visitorship has almost doubled since.
Now, with the expansion, thrill-seekers looking to feed their adventurous appetites can take on the Vortex, which will send them splashing down the slide through twists and turns at speeds of up to 10 meters per second!
While rides like Vortex are designed for the thrill-seekers, Wild Wild Wet remains committed to families and young children with another new ride – Kraken Racers. With a minimum height requirement of only 1.1 metre, the four-lane intertwined ride promises to be fun for the whole family. Quirky floats and spacious cabanas which include a snack platter and chilled drinks to beat the heat will also be available for rental to ensure guests can comfortably enjoy their experience at Wild Wild Wet. Events and programmes will also be introduced so that every visit is a unique one, including the upcoming first Halloween-themed run, Panic In The Park.
Singapore’s First Integrated Water Park Resort
The water park is connected via a short access path to D’Resort, giving vacationers at the latter a seamless IWPR experience – where guests can step out of their room and gain direct access to Wild Wild Wet. NTUC members can expect even more benefits at Singapore’s first integrated Water Park Resort. Each room reservation by a member comes with complimentary Adult tickets to Wild Wild Wet that allow for unlimited access throughout their stay. “Being an NTUC member definitely has its perks. Getting absolutely free access to Wild Wild Wet for the entire family when we book a room at D’Resort is amazing as we used our savings to shop and enjoy the other facilities at Downtown East such as Orchid Bowl and eXplorerkid,” shared Mr Sebastian Ong, 64, a civil servant with the Amalgamated Union Of Public Employees, who stayed at D’Resort in August.
Improvements embraced by members and public
Since the launch of D’Resort, occupancy rates have been increasing steadily particularly so when the first two new rides at Wild Wild Wet were completed. Feedback has also been encouraging, validating the efforts NTUC Club has put in so far to refresh and revamp of Downtown East.
